All new moms deserve to feel empowered during their transition to motherhood
Becoming a mom has brought immense joy to my life. But, let’s be honest: the transition to motherhood is hard.
I care deeply about building a better world for new moms. Professionally, I want to help fix systems that support moms. Personally, I want to help moms feel less alone by sharing experiences from my own journey.
I want to help fix the system.
Through my experience, I’ve become acutely aware of how our systems — healthcare, employers, and government — have failed to support new moms and families. The status quo isn’t working and I want to help change this.
I want to work with organizations that care about closing these gaps. I want to drive more sustainable, systemic change that will give new moms and co-parents the support they need to thrive.
I want to help new moms directly.
My first year postpartum was one of the most transformative times of my life.
I believe in focusing on the positive and I truly love being a mom. But after my own transition, I couldn’t believe moms didn’t talk more about how hard their first year was. I wish I had more information—both good and bad—to feel more prepared.
So I’ve decided to start sharing myself. I hope my experience and lessons will benefit other new moms too.
About me.
Hi, I’m Nancy!
My life changed in 2021 when I became a mom. I’m a healthcare strategy, operations, and communications professional and a mental health advocate. I’m a former New Yorker and live in Minnesota with my husband and two young kids (7 month old son and 2.5 year old daughter).
I can share more, but what’s most important are my values:
Health first, be kind, show gratitude, be resourceful, build resilience, and lead with integrity and compassion.
